Welcome to Family Development Center
About Family Development Center:
Family Development Center exists to provide child abuse and neglect intervention and prevention services to extremely high-risk families. We are the only agency in Douglas County serving this age group that offers therapeutic, comprehensive services specifically designed to address the complex familial issues of child abuse and neglect. FDC program components effectively identify and reduce family risk factors, while educating parents and providing therapeutic services for children, ages 0 - 5 years. FDC offers therapeutic early childhood education, intensive home-based and center-based parent training/skill building, mental health support, respite care, meals, transportation, a clothing closet and emergency food pantry.
Therapeutic Center Programs
FDC’s curriculum is individualized to meet the needs of each child, based upon research for supporting positive/healthy brain development.
Healthy Families Program
These resources are designed to increase and improve parenting skills and decrease family risk factors.
